  1. Obviously download Server2Go<\/a> and Magento<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Unblock (windows security feature) both zip files, (right click on zip, properties , Unblock)<\/li>\n
  3. Extract both zip files.<\/li>\n
  4. Go to the Server2Go folder and start Server2Go ( a broweser will open, IE)<\/li>\n
  5. Click on the phpMyAdmin\u00a0link (no passwd!)<\/li>\n
  6. Create a database named ‘Magento’ (or any other name, but this howto will use Magento)<\/li>\n
  7. Close down the browser, You’ll see that Server2Go is shutting down.<\/li>\n
  8. Rename the ‘htdocs’ to ‘htdocs_org’<\/li>\n
  9. Create a new folder ‘htdocs’<\/li>\n
  10. Extract all files in the new ‘htdocs’ folder. Do not place the magento folder in the root but it’s content.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Now we need to edit a few files:<\/p>\n

    Folder: server2go\\<\/div>\n
    File: pms_config.ini<\/div>\n

    Change:<\/p>\n

    (Not required, but recommended)<\/p>\n

    LocalMirror=1<\/p>\n

    to<\/p>\n

    LocalMirror=0<\/p>\n

    MySQLCmd=–skip-innodb<\/p>\n

    to<\/p>\n

    MySQLCmd=<\/p>\n

    make changes to the [browser] settings if you want.<\/p>\n

    Change:<\/p>\n

    max_execution_time = 30 \u00a0 \u00a0 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
    \nmemory_limit = 128M \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)<\/p>\n

    to<\/p>\n

    max_execution_time = 600 \u00a0 \u00a0 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
    \nmemory_limit = 512M \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)<\/p>\n

    Installation of Magento:<\/p>\n

    1. Start the server2go executable (again IE opens)<\/li>\n
    2. If magento files ware placed in the correct location, you will see the ‘Welcome to Magento’s Installation Wizard’.<\/li>\n
    3. Read the license, and agree with it, press continue<\/li>\n
    4. Change the localization\u00a0to your preference, continue to next screen<\/li>\n
    5. change ‘host’ to ‘127.0.0.1:7188’ (if you named your db anything\u00a0other than ‘Magento’, change it as well)<\/li>\n
    6. you can not use localhost (at least on win7) or else you’ll get :
      \n“SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.<\/li>\n
    7. Database connection error.”<\/li>\n
    8. press continue, this will take a long time!<\/li>\n
    9. Still need to wait,…<\/li>\n
    10. Sigh, finally\u00a0done (Database script just ran).<\/li>\n
    11. There are a few other form to fill out, but you’ll manage this. \u00a0TIP ** Save the encryption key **!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
